Just an update

Not to much new going on in the world of the Cullens. Jon and I have had a fun filled week.
Last saturday we house sat/dog sat for Ms. Konie. That was like a mini-vaca for Jon and I! :) The dogs are SO funny and soooooooooo good! And it was also convenient for me going to work. I could leave 10 minutes before I had to be there on time. :)

Last tuesday I was looking on PetFinder.com like I do EVERY SINGLE DAY! And I found Jon and I's first puppy. His name is Twinkie, but Jon and I are changing it to Mr.Wiggles. :) Twinkie is a chihuahua at a shelter in Cullman. He is only 5 weeks old and he can't be adopted until July 17th. (Moms birthday!) I called and I am 1st on the list to get him! I am so excited. I have been wanting a puppy for a while, but never found one that I like as much as Mr.Wiggles. He is just precious. Can't wait to bring him home. :)

Jon and I went to Jemision for a Fathers Day celebration. Some of Jons family I had never met were there, so it was nice being with them all. We all had a blast. The pool is so much fun. I foresee LOTS of weekends at the Cullen house! :) AND I got an EARLY birthday gift from Sandi and Keith and that was a new bathing suit. It is SO cute. I love it! Thank you guys so much!! :)

On Friday I decided it was time to get a hair cut and my roots were in desperate need of touch ups. As you all know, I have NEVER had my hair cut short. (Well except this one time that Ms.Konie took me to get my hair cut without Moms permission..but thats another story... another day!) Anyway, I got it cut shorter and a lot blonder! I am LOVING it! It is just WAY to hot to have long hair right now! :)

After spending Fathers Day with Keith, we came back to celebrate with my daddy. We ate lunch at Natalie and Brads and spent some time with him there. Everyone was going to Old Overton to swim, but Jon and I both got fried at the pool yesterday and we decided that we would just be miserable in that hot sun again!

Now were back at Ms.Konies with her sweet doggies! Jon is watching soccer. USA just beat Egypt! GO USA. I don't even like soccer, but that was a fun game to watch!

Well, I am going to take a nap!

I hope you all have a great week!

Blessings and love,

Answered Prayer!

So, I couldn't be more happy right now. Jon has had 3 interviews this week with the same company. 1 phone interview, 1 lunch interview with the Assistant Web Developer, and one with the president of the company. Today he was suppose to go in around 2 for his interview, but they called and asked if he could come in around 10:45. At 11 I recieved a text from Jon saying, "Shortest interview ever!!!" I thought to myself, "bummer. He didn't get the job". But I immediately texted him back to see what the outcome was. He texted me back with Good and bad news. The good news?? HE GOT THE JOB! The bad news: He is on a free lance trial basis. BUT, I have total faith that this is going to work out for him. SO please, KEEP praying that this works out. I can only PRAISE GOD right now for this opprotunity. There is a scripture that talks about not worrying about tomorrow, but that tomorrow will worry itself. And thats what I am doing. I am going to PRAISE my AWESOME God for this blessing He has given Jon and we are going to work with it.
Thank you to each and everyone of you who have been praying for Jon and I. It means more to me then I could ever tell you.
I will update more about Jons new job as I get the details!
Blessings and Peace,

Slacker....

Wellllllll......I would say that I have been a MAJOR slacker on the blogging here lately. Sorry to all my blogging friends. (Mrs.Konie, mom told me you asked if I was ever going to blog again-Well here ya go..HAHA!!)

Jon and I are officially back in Birmingham. We've been here for about 2 weeks now and are absolutely loving it. Its nice to be near family again. And man, Jon and I have saved some money not having to drive from Auburn to Birmingham every weekend. Ha. :)

Jon has been on several interviews since he has been here and we are now playing the "waiting" game. NOT a fun game. Please continue to pray for him as he is STILL job hunting.  I know a job will come around I just need to learn patience. Since he has been here he has started helping with the KnickNats earrings. He has learned how to make them and is doing a great job. At least its something to keep him busy.

We have enjoyed being here at Natalie and Brads. The kids keep us entertained. Daisy keeps me laughing all the time. She is SUCH a diva. And Kemp. I mean OBSESSED isn't even the word for what he is with Jon. And DAISY too. WOW, they both LOVE their Uncle Jon Jon and are always wanting HIM to play with them. He has so much patience with them. He is REALLY great with kids.

Last night we went to babysit Lily. It was a ball. We went to New York Pizza, Edgewood Creamery, and then to the park. Lily is just a doll. She is sooo smart. I can't believe that she starts kindergarten this year. It just seems like yesterday she was Daisy's age.  She will be 5 in August and that just BLOWS my mind. I don't know where that time went.

I have been working VBS at RUMC this week and next week work starts back. I can't wait to be around all my old co-workers again. :) ( I DO miss my kiddos and friends back at the CDC. I have some pictures of my last day that I am going to update with next.)

Well, I need to go and help make some earrings.

Have a BLESSED day,

Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day. I have to say it is MUCH different when you have someone who you love in the service.  Every other year I have taken it for granted, but this year is different. To have a brother in the Navy makes me TRULY stop and think about what this day means. Thank you to everyone who is serving our country or has served. My Paw Paw, My dad, my Uncle Pat, and now my brother have all served.

So, I am suppose to be going back to Auburn today. I can't tell you how I DON'T want to go back. I know I HAVE to, but I certainly DON'T want to! The drive is so boring and I am going to miss my hubby. Going on 2 weeks without having him around. I am actually starting to miss that big ole dork. :) But, I know he HAS to stay up here. Praying that Tuesday will be a great day for Jon. :)

I keep telling myself ONLY 3 more nights in Auburn. I can't believe it! It is so surreal. I thought that Jon and I would be there for at least 3 years. I had no idea it would happened as quickly as it did. Jon and I have been talking about everything that has happened and we both agree that this is a blessing in disguise. As weird as that sounds we both feel its true. We will be around family and friends. What could be better than that? NOTHING

On another note..we are suppose to go to the pool this morning, but I just don't see that happening. It has rained SO much lately. I just hope and pray that it doesn't rain on Saturday when the boys are moving the furniture.

Well I had better get busy and start packing...

Blessings and Peace,

4 more days!! :)

My mom is so amazing. She helps Jon and I out in more ways than one. She is seriously the most unselfish person I have ever met. She gave up her ENTIRE week to come to Auburn and help Jon and I pack up the house. I don't think she knew what she was getting herself into. She did ALL my laundry, cleaned, packed, and made a TON of scrapbooks. Not to mention she had lunch made for me each time I came home. She is amazing and I don't think we could have gotten done with everything if it weren't for her.  Thank you, Mom from the bottom of my heart. You are the best mom anyone could ask for. You do for others and don't expect anything in return. I hope and PRAY that I will be HALF the Mom that YOU are to each and everyone of your kids. I love you and I am SO glad to be back in the HAM. You are not only my mother, but you are also my BEST friend.! :)

We officially move all of our big furniture back on saturday! I work tuesday-thursday then after work on Thursday I am coming home FOR GOOD! It will be bittersweet for sure. I will miss my girlies so much. I am so glad that they are going to stay with me this week so we can have a few more memories together. God blessed me with amazing friends and I will miss both of them so much. I don't think it has really hit me until now that I am REALLY moving back. I couldn't be happier, but at the same time I will ACTUALLY miss that COW TOWN! What on earth is wrong with me?! HA.  I will miss my kids so incredibly much. They each will hold a special place in my heart.

Please pray for Jon as he has a BIG interview on Tuesday at 2. I am PRAYING that this will be the job for him. :) It will be exactly what he did at his last job so it sounds like the perfect job for him.

I will update on Tuesday and let you know how his job goes! :)

Blessings and Peace,

"NOT ME MONDAY!"

Here is my first "NOT ME MONDAY" post:
1) I did NOT wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
2) I did NOT go to work with a monster headache
3) I did NOT leave my mom with a whole room FULL of laundry that needed to be done.
4) I did NOT almost loose my wallet with cash that I NEVER have.
5) I did NOT cry while talking to my dad today.
6) I did NOT cry enough to flood Auburn, Al.
7) I did NOT have a child come ask me, "Mrs. Katie, why are you crying?!"
8) I did NOT get in a fight with my husband today. Because I love him WAY to much to ever do that.
9) I did NOT consider buying a dog this weekend. (Considering I don't have a pot to pee in!)
10) I did NOT get some exciting news yesterday...
11) I did NOT just tell a guy who wanted to cut our grass that Jon was out of town and I did NOT just give him CASH to do it!
12) I did NOT drop my curler in the toilet and I did NOT have to fish it out! :(
13) I am NOT excited at ALL about moving back to Birmingham next friday!

Bittersweet..

I have been a slacker at updating lately, I know! But to be honest, there's not much to update on. I wish I could say there was!
Please continue to pray for JON as he needs a JOB ASAP! And if you have ANY leads of anyone who needs a web developer, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let us know. :)
Jon and I have officially decided that we ARE moving back to Birmingham. Natalie was so awesome to ask us to live with her until we can get back on our feet. Thats ANOTHER perk of having a LARGE family. So, THANK YOU, Natalie from the bottom of my heart. Your offer means more to me than you will EVER know. Jon and I are so excited about being able to get back to Birmingham. I have missed my nieces and nephews so incredibly much. Now I will get to see 2 of them everyday! What a BLESSING indeed! :)

My last day at Auburn First Baptist will be May 29th. It will be bittersweet for sure. I have grown attached to each and every one of my kids in my class and will miss them so incredibly much. Its hard to have a bad day when you are around my kiddos. They are always saying something that will make you laugh. :) The teacher I worked with, Mandi, also made it enjoyable work experience. We just kinda clicked and worked so well together. (I am SO excited for her--She found out today that she is having a GIRL! CONGRATS, Mandi!!) Not to mention that I have made 2 really amazing friends who I will miss so much. Hannah and Abbie, thank you so much for being such great friends. You girls  are amazing and I will miss you both to pieces. Promise me to come see me in Birmingham?! :) Love you girls so much. Thanks again for everything!

On another note, today is mine and Jon's 7 month wedding anniversary! Its hard to believe that it has ALREADY been 7 months. Its been a great 7 months. Im not sure there are a lot of couples that can say they've been through as much as Jon and I have in our first months of marriage! But I know that it will make us stronger in the end. :)

Well, my timer is going off..dinners ready! Have a great week. And HOPEFULLY the next time I update it will be GOOD news!

Blessings and Peace,
