Whew its been awhile...

Wow! I haven't updated in almost a month! :) So heres a run down of the past month..

I've had a REALLY hard time finding a job down here in Auburn. Nothing was willing to pay me anywhere close to what I was making at Little Lambs. I decided to work at Little Lambs during the week and come back to Auburn on the weekends until I found something else. While it wasn't ideal, we didn't have a choice. I DIDN'T want to do it, but Jon and I HAD to have money. I got soooooo tired of people saying, "I'd just have to be poor before I would live away from my husband!" I guess it was different for Jon and I because we were use to living apart from each other. Thats not to say it wasn't hard. I MISSED Jon tremendously, but we had to do what was best for us. I knew that God would provide me with the right job. I just had to keep praying and keep searching.

About a month ago, when everything was happening with Mrs. Stevenson, I got a call from someone in Auburn about a job. I had a MILLION things on my mind that week and almost forgot to call them back. When I called back the supervisor was already gone for the day. I left all my information for her to call me back. Well, I figured I had lost the interview since I didn't call her back for a few days.

Well, on Tuesday night, I had the dreaded stomach bug. So on Wednesday, I didn't go to work. My phone rang and it was from Milestones Learning Center! They were calling to see if I was still interested in the job and told me they had a FULL TIME position that was opening up! We set up an interview for monday the 24th. :) I was so excited, but at the same time didn't want to get my hopes up.

Well, I went for the interview today. I have to say it was the MOST comfortable in an interview I have been in a long time. The rooms are great, teachers seem nice, and the kids are oh so cute! The supervisor told me that they have been opened for a year and haven't had anyone quit yet. I think that says A LOT for the company! The company seems great! And......

They offered me a JOB!!!!!!!!!!! (and for a pay CLOSE to what I was getting at Little Lambs!) I am THRILLED! Now Jon and I can officially start our lives together. I KNEW God would provide me with the right job. Thats why I didn't settle for just anything!

I am going to miss being in Birmingham a lot. I am going to miss everyone a little lambs, my family, and I am going to especially miss seeing my Daisy everyday. I use to LOVE to go see her in the baby room and rock her to sleep. I loved walking up to her door and her dropping what she was doing to crawl as fast as she could to get to me. Then she would MELT my heart as she would cry when I would leave her. Its been so special to see her everyday and watch her grow.

Ah, now I am crying......

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone. I sure have a LOT to be Thankful for this year...

In Christ there are no goodbyes

3 short months ago Mrs. Sara Stevenson came into my life. She was such an amazing woman and her faith was stronger than you can imagine. You see, Mrs. Stevenson, was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 10 years ago. This past year, I believe, it came back. She has a granddaughter named, Grace, that goes to Little Lambs Playschool. Over the summer, Mimi (as Grace calls her) needed someone to help her watch Grace during the days. Traci, the director at Little Lambs, asked me if I was interested. I immediately said "YES".

I began watching Grace for 3 weeks during the month of August from 9-1 everyday. One of Graces favorite things to do was watch Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs while she had on her Snow White Costume that her Mimi had made for her last year for Halloween. I would be willing to bet we put that outfit on her 2 times a day! She even had to sleep in it at nap time!

It was during watching Grace that Mimi showed me her amazing Faith. Not only through her words, but through her actions. She was so strong.

I asked Mimi if Grace was going to continue to go to LLPS during the fall. She said "yes" and I asked her if it would help her out if I took Grace to and from school for her. (Mimi wasn't strong enough to drive.) I began to take her for Mimi.I loved being able to take Grace to school. She would talk to me from the time we got in the car, until we got out. It was hard to be in a bad mood when Grace was with me. She makes me laugh. She has such a witty personality. Very smart to only be 3.

Let me tell you something..that Grace LOVES her Mimi so much. I loved to watch her get out of the car and run up to Mimi with a huge smile on her face and give her a big hug. It was a highlight of my day.

I'll never forget my last day working at Little Lambs and my last day to pick up Grace. It was a very emotional day. I picked up Grace from school already a little teary.  I went to the door to get her and Mimi handed me a card. I took the card to my car and began reading it. I began to cry even more! After school I got Grace in the car and was leaving the church. On this day Grace was very quiet, which was very unusual for her. I looked back at one point and Grace was crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said "Im going to miss you, Miss Katie." So of course, I began to cry. I told Grace that I was going to miss her just as much if not more. She was very quiet on the rest of the way home. When I got her out of the car I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her. I was walking her up to the door when Mimi came out. I gave Mimi a hug and we both lost it.

Last week, Meg (who began to take Grace to and from school for me), called me last week and told me Mimi's cancer has spread to her back and uterus. She was taken in to the hospital last week. Was in and out of a coma. She started getting better by the end of the week. Courtney (one of Mimis daughters/Graces mom) told me she even watched the Auburn game. And when Auburn made a bad play you could see her heart rate spike on the monitor! On Friday, I heard she was suppose to be going home at some point this weekend...

Well, she did go home. Just not the home we all wish she were. I feel such saddness right now. The tears just keep coming. I know Mimi is in a better place. She is healed of her cancer. PRAISE GOD! Mimi taught me a lot of things this summer, but the biggest, is to always have FAITH. She had an UREAL faith. A faith that I will always strive to have.

The song on my playlist called "Homesick" by Mercy Me really hits home to me right now. There is a lyric that particularly strikes me. "In Christ there are no goodbyes.. in Christ there are no ends..So Ill hold on to Jesus...thats all I have..To see you again..to see you again.."

To Mimi, I love you. I will always treasure the times that I spent with you and Grace over the summer. You taught me more this summer than you know. I have the card you gave me in a special place and will ALWAYS keep it. I miss you so much already! Until I see you again...

We're alive!

It's been a while since my last post! Things have been kind of crazy. I had to go to Birmingham this past weekend for a court thing. (No I wasn't in trouble!!) I ended up working at Little Lambs on monday and tuesday to get some money. (I LOVED going back and working there. I wish that I was still there. )

Pat was actually in town this past weekend! It was soooooo great seeing him again. I think he is coming back Halloween weekend. If so, Jon and I are coming back to Birmingham. PLUS, we want to see Ashley and David. (Brads mom and step-dad are coming from Australia!) They will be getting here on saturday for 3 weeks. I know Brad and Natalie are so excited to see them! IT will also be Ashley and Davids first time to see Daisy!

I went yesterday to look for a job. I applied at a place called "The Growing Room". It is a child care place less than a mile from my house. The facility is unreal. HUGE. I have an interview tomorrow at 10. It was suppose to be today, but they had to reschedule. Which is actually better because it gives me another day to clean my house. We have Jon's dad, Sandi, and maybe Kristin coming down on sunday for dinner. I am excited for them to see the house. There is still a ton of work that needs to be done in Jon's study! He will be working on that alllll day saturday!!

Tonight Jon and I are going to carve our pumpkin! I will definitely make pictures and post them for you all to see! I LOVE to carve pumpkins. I know its weird, but I do! :) I am also going to save the pumpkin seeds-YUM!

Okay, well I know I promised pictures of the rest of the honeymoon! I WILL post them today, I promise!!

Where dreams come true..

Here are a few pictures of Magic Kingdom. Jon and spent 12 HOURS, yes, you read that right 12 HOURS at Magic Kingdom! :) We have TONS of pictures from this day! It will take me several posts to get them all loaded!
Jon and I had a BLAST at Magic Kingdom. The only down fall was that it started RAINING while we were on a Roller Coaster!!! :-/ After spending $8 on ONE poncho we were back on a merry little way. The lines were bad at all for any of the rides.
The highlights of Magic Kingdom and what we HIGHLY recommend if you are going to Magic Kingdom:
1) Mickeys PhilharMagic Show- It was a 3D show and it was UNREAL! Its one of those things you can't explain to anyone! You've just got to see if for yourself!
2) Monster inc. Laugh Floor Comedy Club- I have NEVER laughed so much in my life! They use the audience for their jokes and its hilarious! I was actually on the big screen with a caption that said "Has No Idea Where She is!" HAH! I never saw it, but Jon did! Too funny!
3) Runaway Train- Fun roller coaster! We actually rode this one twice. (This is the ride that we were riding when it started POURING!)
4) Space Mountain- Didn't think I would like it as much as I did. It was really cool!
5) "Dreams Come True" Parade-One word--AMAZING! (Pictures coming soon!)
6) Jon's favorite ride of the whole trip: ITS A SMALL WORLD! HAH, just kidding! Jon HATED that ride! He must have rolled his eyes during that ride 1000000 times. It is a VERY old ride and needs to be updated!!
Now, here are some pictures from the Magic Kingdom:

Here we are adter getting POURED on!
Its a Small World aka Jon's Favorite! :)

Craft Time!

So last night after we went to purchase our new washer and dryer, I decided that I needed a craft project! I remembered these pumpkins that my sister in law, Kadie, had made last year. She rolled the pumpkins in glue then put glitter on top of them. Of course, hers looked like something out of a magazine and well mine..you can judge for yourself! :) Anyway, after cleaning up what seemed like a pound of glitter off my floor here is the finished project..
Oh, and the last picture is a picture of the flowers Jon brought me home!

My New Home

So, I decided to post a few pictures of the house! Remember, I just moved in and am still trying to make it cute! It was a bachelor pad for 2 months! :)

The entertainment Center..and my FAVORITE lamp ever!!!
My Cross from Wrapsody!
Our Little Bathroom!
Our new bed!!
And the new comforter!

I just noticed that there is a BAG right there-UGH sorry!
Look at my pigs, Em!
My little dining room with Mimi and Granddaddys table!
My Couch and Coffee Table
The Den

I am soo excited because yesterday Jon and I made our first big purchase as Husband and Wife..a NEW Washer and Dryer! HA. I know, its crazy for me to be so happy about a washer and dryer, but if you could see the pile of clothing that we have in our bedroom you would understand! :) The girl who lived her previously LEFT hers. ANNOYING. We were all excited when we first moved in thinking that it would work, but now I see why she left them. BOTH are broken.  Anyways, when we were talking to the guy who sold us our washer and dryer he went to check to see if they had any in the back. Of course they didn't so they were going to have to order it. Well, guess what?! It was being discontinued. SO, he called the manager and asked if they could sell the floor model. Jon and I looked over the floor model and it only had a few "bumps and bruises" on it. We actually ended up getting a REALLY good deal on both of them! We were very happy about that! They are going to even deliver it TOMORROW! YAY! I'm sure my next posts will be about how much I hate laundry...HAHA!

Pray for me because I have an interview either tomorrow or friday with a job that I am really wanting! :) It will basically be doing the same thing I did at LLPS. So, please keep me in your prayers!
